Our Sunday classes run from September - May; the 2011-2012 year will begin on Sunday, Spetember 11, 2011. Sunday School (Children) Jesus said "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14) Children are to be brought to Jesus as children are taught the truths of God's word. God commands parents do this proactive work. "Bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4b). Sunday School works hand-in-hand to help parents carry out their responsibility to make disciples for Christ out of their children. New Life's Sunday School is for children who are old enough to be away from mom for an hour through 8th grade. Sunday School is held from 10:45-11:45am every Sunday during the school year. Since all God's word is useful for teaching, New Life's Sunday School teaches both Old and New Testament Bible stories on a rotating basis. During the 2011-2012 school year the focus will be on the Old Testament stories. However, since the Scriptures testify about Christ, the Bible stories will emphasize how even in the Old Testament times God's people were looking forward to the coming of the Savior. Teen & Adult Sunday Bible Studies Teen Bible Class builds on the foundation established by Sunday School in a fashion suitable for young adults. Adult Bible class is a directed study of the Bible, one chapter at a time. Both meet from 10:45-11:45am every Sunday during the school year. Basic Bible Christianity (Adult Weekly Bible Study) The Basic Bible Christianity class is a sort of Christianity 101. The class presents the basic teachings of the Christian faith. It provides an opportunity to discover from the Bible what Christianity is all about - both for those who have been raised as Christians and those who have had no contact with Christianity. If you don't have a church home, have questions about Christianity, or are wondering what is taught at New Life - this class is for you. If you are a member of New Life you should consider this class as a great review of the Christian faith. This class is offered on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30pm, except on those nights when New Life has Advent or Lenten services. The class offers 15 core lessons plus 10 optional lessons. The 2011-12 series begins on Wednesday, Sepetember 14th. There is no cost an no obligation to attend - though the class does serve as a membership class. If you have children who are too young to leave at home, bring them along. Child care will be provided in the preschool classroom.
